I have been trying to feed water to my bearded dragon so he isn't thirsty.... obviously, but through a syringe. I drop a couple droplets to show him the water and the movement to get him excited to drink it but he just watches it. I dropped a couple drops on his little head between his eyes and he just does nothing. Any tips on getting him to realize its a drinking source?

If he's thirsty they will usually drink or lick- if he's not drinking hes not thirsty- watch his poop if it's moist formed and dark that is good urate- white formed and moist he's not dehydrated-- chalky and dried out looking he is dehydrated

His poop is always how you describe, but what worries me is he makes these popping noising when hes eating and he will make little like huffing noises? I can't describe it but it happens when I pick him up (no matter how I pick him up). I thought this was because he was dehydrated and maybe he was aspirating but maybe he has a respiratory infection?

When I got him his cage was infested with poop and dead insects. It was rarely if ever cleaned ;-(

Record a video of him doing this on YouTube and post the link--- does he have any mucous coming out of his mouth nose is he wheezing or breathing hard? Dehydration will not cause what your describing- is his uvb a tube fixture placed properly in the tank meaning distance and your taking basking temps w/ a digital probe thermometer?

Yeah it’s inside the tank the proper distance. I’ll try and get a video. No mucous just wheezing.

Isn’t this a sign of dehydration, he’s been puffy and doing this all morning But I also didn’t feed him superworms today like I always do bc I need to cut back

No lots of them sit w/ their mouths open mine do it - looks like hes gaping which is sign of adjusting his body temp--
oh okay then. I think he is just overweight as he eats 5 superworms daily along with some blueberries. He refuses to eat any other part of his salad and i dont want him to starve so i give him insects. He is 5 years old. Overweight is probs why he is making those weird wheezing noises when i pick em up?
