Hi everyone! I am brand new to this forum and absolutely brand new to beardies.
I've wanted a reptile for years but with small children to worry about I put it off. Weeks ago I started researching the types of reptiles I was interested in, including care and temperaments and such.
I decided on a bearded dragon because of adult size and their care.
Yes, I know no reptile is 'easy' lol, just this one is easier than most and doesn't stay tiny (which I would not want at all for fear of hurting a very small creature accidentally)
Once I decided breed, I did a massive amount of research and got the proper housing set up before even choosing the actual animal. Also researched the reptile stores in my area picking the one that treated their animals the best.
I don't ever shop on black Friday, but considering they just got a new clutch in that week I made an exception for this one thing.
I even already had the name picked out before choosing.
Dovakiin is his name (and I'm using the male term loosely because I won't know till their older lol)
He's eating very well, already cleaned up a couple of good poops and I'm already able to handle him without issues, as the store raises them well.
I look forward to ever learning more about this amazing animal as he grows!
