So I’ve had my beardie since august and for some reason whenever I get him out of his tank he always wants to climb my walls. If I bring him on my bed (which is up against my wall) he tries so climb the wall. I’m not sure if this means anything and I don’t wanna stress my little man out! Also this is Rocko! My bearded dragon. He is a certain breed (can’t remember what it is lol) and he won’t grow any bigger than he already is!

I’m not sure. The doctor said that she believes that his previous owner didn’t take care of him and he didn’t get enough of something and he lost his ability to grow. I’m not really sure. She also said that she could tell by looking at him that he was definitely put in a tank with other bearded dragons that were much bigger then him. He has certain toes that won’t grow the nails back, he is VERY skittish no matter what I do. Even if someone just walks by his tank he runs.

He needs TLC--- make sure you have your basking temps 95-110-- taken w/ a digital probe thermometer -- to me he looks real young --- do you know how old he is how long the previous owner had him and how long - then we can make a guestamation ---- UVB NO coils please ---- get all this correct and lets see if he starts to grow ---- if you need help w/ the UVB please ask but NO colored bulbs in the tank NO heat mats and NO heat rocks --- what size tank do you have him in?

Haha yea I got it all down. I am literally taking him to the vet all the time to make sure he’s good and healthy. Doctor said he is a lot better now & he will continue his life just as a small little boy. I just have to make sure I’m giving him his calcium powder on his food. The one thing that the doctor and I cannot figure out, is why he won’t eat any greens! I’ve tried everything!!!!! Also, according to Tom’s who received him from a breeder, he was abt a year when I got him in August.

Ok so I went and asked a friend of mine about your dragon and I was wrong its a Rankins she saying this is her post to me
Hi Sadie, it is not a leatherback but it may be a Rankin's. If it was a year old in August then it would have been full size, about 11-12". Ask him to post a pic of it from the back, I can probably tell for sure then from the pattern. It looks healthy tough.

Awesome thanks :), I can try and find a pic of his back bc right now he is sleeping lol. But ignore some of these pictures. Some of these are “older”. And he had a tank rearranging done at some point. Oh and btw he has I think a 30 or 40 gallon tank.

Here is what she said about your baby
That is a Rankin's and is a very healthy looking adult. Do you know where she got
it ? Being less than a foot long as adult it's fine in a 40 gal. tank. These only get to 10-12 " max. as adults.

Where did you get the Rankins?

So I went to Tom’s tropical and a breeder had dropped off a bunch of bearded dragons and said that he/she was done being a breeder and didn’t wanna do it anymore. The one thing I would love help with would be how to get him to eat greens! I’ve tried mixing it with his live food and he picks around the greens to get them, I’ve tried so many different greens and even his doctor said he is a very stubborn little man. I wasn’t sure if you had any pro tips up your sleeve!

I agree order some BSFL add to his salads I would order large he can eat those --- add in front of him first thing in the morning before his staple feeder --- DO NOT dust them --- they are calcium enriched --- hand feed him like 5-6 then drop on his salads right in front of him the movement will get his attention -- then after a hr or so feed him his staple feeder-- BSFL are a good staple for babys -- they are a nice compliment to his main staple - I realize hes older but the concept should work for him as well -- silk worms are a good staple feeder and they STICK to everything
www.reptilianarts.com cup come w/ food --- bulk come small and NO food --

Do you have any suggestions of something I can put in his cage for him to rub up against? He is shedding by his mouth and he keeps trying to rub it off by using the tile of his cage but I feel bad. I feel like I should put something in there for him to help better rub it off.

Wow thats one cute lizard.... :) River stones are really nice, they’re rough but not jagged or bumpy , slate is also an option but it can be sharp (grind the sides on cement so the edges get taken off) , you want as many different textures as possible, you can also put some high grit sand paper (500-800) in his enclosure.

Thank you riley :) , she doesn’t seem to care for the enclosure lol (she still wants outside to roam around) im glad someone likes it, also if your having problems getting ur lil guy to eat SAlad lots of people swear by bee pollen, it gives the salad a buggy smell and its very good for them, i feel ya on the salad rejection, my beardie will only eat flowers so i have to heavily gut load my bugs.
