Hi, I just got a new bearded dragon and I’ve never owned one before. I’m seeing people saying they must their dragon everyday 2-4 times. Is it necessary to mist him that much everyday? Or is it even necessary to mist him once everyday?

Check your humidity. If it isn't as humid as it should be, or if you live in a climate that isn't very humid, you might want to mist everyday/every other day. BUT... if you have a water dish, especially a large or deep water dish, you may not have to mist. The water may evaporate into the enclosure so if the dish alone keeps the humidity at the right spot, then you might not have to mist or at least not as often. It has to be at the right humidity though, so if the water dish doesn't sustain a correct humidity level then mist. Misting just ensures that the humidity is right, and also that your beardie has a source of water to drink or absorb, for things like shed. You can also give him baths if you choose not to mist for the prior reasons, because they often drink in baths. Baths do not substitute for overall enclosure humidity, though.

Mine is about 2 and I have had him since he was 8- 10 in. I have never misted, I do not offer water. I have offered shallow dishes like puddles once in a while and will continue to do so, though I have never seen him use it.

They should be able to get plenty of moisture from their food if they are being feed fresh foods.
