Hi everyone, it's me again, New to the forums, but loaded with questions.

So I found this this morning walking my dogs, and I'm going to turn it into an enclosure for my 2 babes. It's sideways, I'm already trying to repair the weak spots.

Please tell me all the little tidbits you discovered on your journey to making your own beardie home.

All advice is more than welcome.

TIA

Canicke, I don't know the dimensions yet, I should huh? Lol. However, the weak spots were the legs, it's real wood- don't know kind yet. But I'm so excited to make it.

cool. cupla thoughts - it's not a good idea to house them together. one will dominate the other - food, heat, sleep. may even physically injure. are you planning to split this in 1/2? I was thinking it looked good on its side - the top half for one and the bottom half for the other. on its side it would measure 3 feet long and 21 inches wide. might be a bit snug.

Hi, yeah, like canicke says, once its split in 2 it wont be long before they outgrow it. The doors will become quite heavy once you put glass in, so you will need to make sure the wood and hinges are strong enough to support them. My experience with this kind of brown 1950s furniture is that the wood is often quite thin and brittle so you may need to strengthen it in a few places.
It will take some tinkering with, but I would remove the drawers and extend the main cabinet all the way to the bottom. If you have the woodwork skills you can lengthen the doors , if not just box it off. That should give you another foot of length,, but you're stuck with the height.
