He is so pretty now that he has shed. Do they continue to change colors with each shed or is this how Dino will look from now on? I love it!

They can continue to change colors. Mine has changed quite a few times. He originally looked like a regular, but now has orange on his head, legs, and its spreading to his back. Pretty cool stuff.

He's a Beauty!!! There may be color changes yet ... But he is old enough that he will likely stay close to this color.

Well sheesh, He went in for his 2 week recheck again because I felt he wasn't acting like a beardie should act and guess what??? They found Cocciddia and pinworms in his stool!!! My vet said that sometimes not every stool sample will show every parasite because they might not be in that stool sample so this just chaps my butt. Seriously I do not recommend this breeder to anyone at all! I am dishing out a small fortune just trying to get rid of all Dino's issues that came with him. I couldn't ever hardly get him to eat much but waxworms and that is because he has been infested (which I did not know!) with 3 different parasites!! The Giardia is gone Thankgod! But now he has the other two. My vet dosed him to get rid of pinworms and gave me meds to give him for 5 days for Coccidia and wants to see him back in 2 more weeks. I cleaned out all the sand out of his habitat and sprayed 10 parts water to 1 part bleach all in his habitat and let that sit while I did the same with all his pieces of wood and rocks in his tank. Then I rinsed it all out and dried it and put puppy pads down until we get Dino all straight which I will know in 2 weeks if he is all clear. So if he gets a clean bill of health after that I decided to go and get 4 pieces to fit his tank of Flannel cut ( Thats what his hammock is made of) so I figured it would be safe.
That is what I plan to use as substrate from here on out. But now everything is sterilized and Dino is back in his habitat. He weighed 260 grms so he did gain because the last time ( 2 weeks ago) he weighed 180 grms but I feel that was because of the waxworms so when he gets well his diet will get better and hopefully his eating habits will get better. Nothing worse than a "Breeder" not taking care of their animals they breed and make a buck off of :( I wonder what would have happened to Dino is I wouldn't have gotten him :(

Thank you all for the nice compliments about Dino :)

Thank you. I just ordered him some probiotics and appetite stem paste. I had been giving him Ben bac but I read that it is not as good as liquid probiotics for Reptiles. I hope this perks him up.

Thanks for asking Pat :) He only ate 4 super worms today and he had pooed and in his urine there was a tiny bit of blood so I am thinking that is from the Coccidia? I am going to ask the Vet tomorrow but his probiotics are on back order and they said they should get them in tomorrow (Thurs) and they will ship them right out. Wow I am almost thinking you might want to wake Spike up.

I know that Germ had a beardie that once brumated for 5 months. Spike moves around every now and then so I know he is still breathing and I check him a couple of times a day. I miss having him around but I am just letting him do his thing.

Allie is beautiful. Its amazing how long they can go without eating. I am going to have to be prepared if Dino goes into Brumation and I will be a basket case.

I don't think Dino will go into brumation this time of year. I think it is mostly in the fall and usually around one year old. Spike was only 10 months when he decided to sleep which is young.

Hmm that's young. Allie didn't go into brumation or even slowed down her activities of beardie behavior. The only thing is: She does like to sleep in a little bit, but so do I. She was just coming out of her blanket this morning, staring at her paintings and pictures taped outside of her tank. Her tail's looking ready to shed. :)

Well he ate when I got home about 5 super worms and then climbed back on his log and closed his eyes. I got some probiotics from my vet this morning and he said it cannot hurt to give it to him so I gave him just a pinch added in some water in a syringe and ofcourse he hated it and spit most out. At least he does not shake his head like my Chameleon does when I give him Reptaid when he is down and out. Reptiles are complicated.
