Dexter is thinking about brumation.

So now that spring is coming and the weather has warmed up a bit, Dexter has decided to try this brumation thing

I found her in her hide Friday morning with her tail sticking out and Saturday morning she tucked completely in. She's still in there Sunday morning. She's moved around, and I did see her awake in there but she's not joining the real world.

Silly Dragon!! That's the craziest thing this brumation thing is! Boo Hiss hopefully she is just taking a short nap..

No, he went in and out for a few months where he would sleep a few days and then wake up and come out to eat and whatever. Now he's fully awake and back to his normal self.

Dexter has never done this before so I'm freaking out about it and checking on her every 1/2 hour. With Luci, I missed him but was a little grateful for the break because he is so crazy. Dexter is different though, she's my little buddy I'm hoping though maybe her brain resets and when she comes out she will eat her salads on her own!

She's still in there. I was talking to her earlier and she was looking at me but refused to come out.

Do all dragons brumate? Or is it under circumstances?

Not all of them do. She's 3 and this is her first time

We will see what happens. She usually gets a bath on Tuesday, so if I have the time I'm going to take her out and see what she does.

She got a bath today and pooped. She was very curious and wanted to know what was going on around her. I fed her some greens with some silkworms an she ate 2 of them, then wanted to run around. I put her back in to bask and she went into her open hide and that's where she fell asleep. Hopefully she's still there tomorrow.

She was wide awake today. She had two giant hornworms for breakfast and then the rest of the day she was on like high alert. Very curious about everything and investigating. Like she was making sure nothing changed in the 4 days she was out. Silly girl!
