Weighed Devlin last night and she has broken the 100g mark. I am surprised at how fast she has grown compared to my other reptiles that are all slow growers. She has finally taken to greens. Loves curly mustard greens and when I give them to her in the morning she devours them. Loves her roaches as well. I can't seem to get her to care for fruits though. tried strawberries and melon and she just didn't care for them, but I am glad she is finally eating her greens. I was wondering if hard boiled egg was ok for them to have every once in a long while or if it would harm them. She has been moved into a new bigger tank. A quick question do any of you ever worry about cutting their toe nails. Devlin scratches me up pretty badly if I don't. Here are a couple of shots of her getting mad cause I am watching her eat.

He appears quite fine & is a cutie ...

BDs have Claws, Claws scratch ... You will not be able to cut them short enough so they won't. I keep a good sized rock in all of my enclosures to act as an emery board to help keep their claws in check as they climb & walk on it. If it is absolutely necessary, do not use human type nail clippers, as they will crush & splinter the claw before cutting. Small animal claw clippers like you would use for a cat or small dog, are available at most pet stores. It is not worth cheaping out on these because you can cause some serious discomfort to your dragon if not cut quickly & cleanly. Be sure to get the type with the 'V' cutters or with round 'U' shape cutters. Be careful not to cut to the quip. It is a good idea to have a bottle cap or other small container of corn starch or flour handy. Dipping the claw in this will help stop the bleeding if you happen to cut too short. Here are some pics to give you an idea of how much & where to cut ...

If the claws are extremely long, only cut approximately 1/8", then wait 2 weeks for the nerves & quip to recede then cut again, repeat if necessary.

Hope this helps ...

Good Luck
