I just got Demeter a few days ago. Here's a bit about her:
My friend was the original owner of her. She bred her, but the eggs died apparently (my friend made a home made incubator). After that, I found out Demeter was given to my other friend, who also had a leopard gecko. She housed them (they were 2 females) together, but Demeter would attack the other. So, my friend couldn't keep her anymore. She didn't want to get double of everything, so she asked me if I would take Demeter. Sure enough, I did.
I had pretty much everything the gecko needed already, so it wasn't really any cost to me. I already had a 10 gallon tank, UTH, a hide, decorations, calcium powder, and bugs (crickets, mealies, supers). The under tank heater I had was a little too hot. It went to 94*F, and I didn't want it to get any hotter. It got that hot because of the temp in my room, which is always about 85*F. So the only things I had to buy was a light fixture, and some moss for a humid hide.
Here are some photos:
When I first did her tank:
Her tank now:
The only thing I haven't finished yet is her humid hide. Will be working on that fairly soon !
I'm a first time leopard gecko owner, so, any suggestions/advice?
