Hi to all,

I went to a local pet shop (Im fron the Philippines) today to look at a Hypo Yellow BD which was being sold. Im guessing she's a juvy, around 10 inches in total length. I think the pet handler doesnt really care about her because she's so skinny and lats are just crawling on her head, and body. Making it very stressful for the animal. I pity her so much that even though her condition was bad, I still bought her and im trying to give her a much better life here with me. She already drank gulps of water, but still hasnt eaten yet. May I have some advice on what to do extensively? we dont have a reptile vet here (none that I know of). So, any help will be very much appreciated.

Regards
gf

Can you post a pic of the new dragon?
This will enable us to see her condition better. And give better advise

Untill then, give her a nice soak for about 20 mins in luke warm water. Make sure it doesnt get above her armpitts. And watch her so she doesnt go under.

How long have you had her for?

As for the not eating part, it can be due to her being relocated. It will cause dragons to not eat, have stress marks etc.... Just make sure to keep offering salad and feeders to her.

Will be waiting on the photo so we can go from there.

The best thing to do is to drop some water on the tip of her snout and let her drink up the water. Soaking 2-3 times a week will aid in re-hydrating as well. Mist greens before you feed to get some added water. If you find she does not want to eat much you can blend up some bugs and greens in to a slurry and offer it through a syringe like this

Looks like everyone handled your dehydration concerns. I just to add a couple things, well a couple of questions.

1. Where exactly do you live? We have members who can help you find a herp vet. I would highly recommend having a fecal test run on your dragon. If his conditions were poorly kept, he may have parasites of some sort.

2. What are the temps on your hot side and cool side?

3. What do you use to measure your temps?

4. What UV light are you using?

5. What substrate (flooring) are you using?
