yes he has been a lot. he’s in a 40gal atm but i’m going to be upgrading him asap. is it a bruise from hitting it against the glass?
That's what it looks like- if you take him out for awhile and put him back in does he quit? Also uvb and basking temps play a role as well-- are you using a coil UVB? And are you taking basking temps w/ a digital probe thermometer?

He does quit after getting out but will do it later again. he does this a few times a day. i am using a reptisun 10.0 uvb across cage and i am currently not using a digital thermometer in the tank. i am looking to upgrade it though as well because after watching info videos on youtube the last few days, i learned they seem to not be accurate. along with that i want to upgrade the hygrometer and get a heat gun thermometer to get temps..the thermometer i have says 90° at the moment on the hot side (like i said prob not super accurate not sure) but i don’t know what temp it is at his basking spot.

What is the UVB T 8 or a T 5? Screen is it a wide hole or fine mesh? The digital probe thermometer is the most accurate your going to get ---- The IR guns are good but certain materials will throw that gun off thats why its important to have the digital probe =---Zoo Med makes good ones -- most use Zoo Med -- so the 90 your getting on the hot side is ambient temps? Or spot where the dragon is sitting? You want a heat gradient of 95-110 for basking temps - a nice piece of decor will give that one that gives different places to sit stand lay on or lay against -- like this https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/ha...riftwood-reptile-decor-54734.html?cgid=500116 I use them in my tanks and my dragons love them -- you can set them different ways in the tank -- I did have the stick on hygrometer but have gone to digital probe ones now - the probe is on the back middle wall of the tank w/ the reader on top of screen -- the glass surfing can be caused by temps being too hot -- or incorrect UVB but w/ the tube fixture I need to know where you have it placed - the distance and placement between the two bulbs is crucial -- if your basking spot is at 90 its not hot enough -- you want that basking temp at least 95- is the food completely digested? You will get undigested food if temps are too low

that wood is nice! might have to get that. here are some pictures of his set up now just to make it easier in explaining! i have read you should have two hides on cool and hot side but this 40gal is just too small for another hide if that is a requirement. i am using the t8 uvb inside the tank. the temp gauge is in the back of tank so i think that’s just the gradient then. i don’t have a temp for his basking which is at the front. his food is completely digested. should i have digital temp probe on the hot side and cool side? how are you getting the basking temp with the probe in the middle back wall? would i put the probe on the wall by his basking spot? also it’s a temp/humidity gauge in one. humidity says 50 which idk how accurate that is it says 40 in my house. not completely sure about the true humidity. where do you put your hygrometer? sorry for so many questions. thank you so much for your time.

The probe for hygrometer is on back wall- set your probe thermometer on the place where he sits to bask--- is there a reflector on the UVB fixture? If not you need to get one

He may glass surf less if you use a backing screen on the back/sides of the cage. He’s possibly seeing his reflection in the glass and being able to see out every side could be stressing him x
