Over the last couple of days Dante (2 yr old, adopted 1 month ago) has stopped eating and has not pooped in over a week. We have tried bathing him a couple of times a day, give him a little vegi oil in a dropper, put a heating rock in his habitat, bought some diet supplement for dehydration and fed him some in a dropper. He refused it and it runs down his chin. He is pale with dark black around his beard and under his neck, he lies most of the time with his eyes closed. We are trying to stimulate him by rubbing his tummy and have done the things above. Can anyone offer any advise? Please? I really hate to loose Dante, poor thing. We will try just about anything.

I will go check all that. We bought him a new bulb today. We use a humidity/temp guage to measure temps. His tank is running 80-85 but I don't know about the basking tem. He has moved to his basking spot in the last few mins. By substrate do you mean what is in the bottom of his cage? He was on sand but we changed him to carpet yesterday. He has a log and two fake rocks which came with the set-up and we got a heating rock for him today. I'll go check his temps.

When you say humidity/temp guage do you mean the stick on ones?
These can be off by as much as 30 F. Please go to walmart and by a cheap $15 digital thermometer with a wire probe on it and make sure it is touching the basking spot and not measuring air temp. you want the basking spot to be around 110F and the cool side around 85F.
what type (Brand and shape) is your UV bulb?

I am using one with aa wire probe. I think he's cold. His basking spot is 93. We had been using a critter culture 75W, 120V but we thought it may be wrong so today we changed it to an All Living Things,100w UVA Neodymium basking bulb and at night when we turn this off we turn on a night heater.

baskin temp should be around 100 to 110 for an adult. mercury vapor bulbs such as solar glo's or mega rays are the best. if your tryin to stimulate a poop use cod liver oil or lactulose from your vet.
first and foremost take the little guy to an exotic vet if possible and have him tested for parasites as they will cause a sickly dragon
