Crix moved to a new home, 2,000 of them

Made a new cricket bin, 50 gallon and ordered 2,000. Got them today and man it was a lot more then I thought. As soon as I cut a little slit in the box and they came out with an explosion. Thank God for warm weather and an outdoor storage area. Don't know how I would feel about this many in the house.

they will not make it long enough to chirp...they will be lizard poo in less than 3 weeks. I got lucky and had screen left over from when I had to replace the screen in the sliding glass door screen thanks to my dog ripping a big hole in it trying to get a opossum in the back yard. had more than enough to make a new cricket bin and even more left to make an outside enclosure for the dragons to get real sun.

kewl deal. now the bad news.
your crix will climb the container walls if it's opaque. If it's just colored clear, you're fine.
you either want to order bug stop, or get a clear container.
No point paying for 2000 and ending up with 500 right.
In an outdoor storage, you'll also want protection against ant invasion.

I have clear tape I put around the inside of the bin, they fall right off it, cant climb on it. For the outside storage, it is in a room where the bug people spray around the edge of it but not in the room itself. Its our outside laundry room, dumb but in the 80s thats how they did things around here. I got the bin for free so if they do make it over the tape I will buy a clear one. Thanks for the advise.

they do drop fast. It is only 4:30 here and he has already eaten over 100 and there is still another feeding to go today.
