How long do they stay alive, how many days? How many days should I buy at a time? I dont wanna waste my money. I have a few of the orange blocks in the cricket keeper and some of the blue stuff.
Crickets only live a couple months give or take..I used to raise them for 5 years up til a few months ago...your going to need ALOT of crickets to get your money worth it's best to buy in bulk..petstores sell them for .16 to .19 per cricket! online it comes out to about .7 per I bought 500 at a time. If you think of it you have a baby dragon feeding say 20 per feeding 3 times a day 7 days a week.. thats alot of crickets!! .I used Armstrongcrickets.com most of the time, they are healthy, great customer service... I fed them white cornmeal and rolled oats, organic carrots and romaine lettuce. I used miracle grow water crystals that you can buy at home depot or lowes...
you might think about raising Dubia's more bang for the buck and they live several years!
Hope that helps
Crickets can last for moths with good care. I've never had luck with those orange cubes, mine always seemed to die faster. I use the flukers yellow gel and the dry food and I also give them whatever ends and stems from my dragons salads. Except for collard greens, I learned that my bugs smelled more when I fed them collards. Make sure you keep their container somewhat clean too and get rid of any shed or dead ones. Most important is to give them egg crates or toilet paper rolls to hide in, if they don't have places to hide they will kill each other.
