As I was doing my final toy sweep of the day I just started to smile. I was finding toys everywhere and with every toy I picked up it made me happier and happier. I found toys under the table, in the bathroom and in every corner of the house. I even found one of the baby's flip flops in the sink. Being a mom is the one job I never get sick of, and the only job I do that I know one day, far down the road, I am going to miss doing everyday. So until the day my kids are grown, I am going to pick every toy up off the floor and smile.

Then, I wondered how in the HELL did they get so many darn toys!!!!

Yeah, Right !
I'd would certainly have to agree ! Darn laundry does breed at night and multiply !
Toys do too, I think, but they have a special night once a month where that happens...lol

So, true Sandra! They can be like socks, just need some mommy intervention to assist them. I actually started rotating ours. They have so many and it clutters the house and they don't play with it. So, we bring it out, put something away until they tire of that one. There's still a lot out and we pick up every night too. So many teeny tiny toys!

I ration too. I just wonder how they play with so many things in a day. They are allotted one small corner that is not in plain view. everything else is put away in bins in their closets not to mention the toy boxes in their rooms that they are allowed to sift through when ever. Thanks to the toy reproducing like rabbits, I tell people buy them cloths or give me the money to put towards one big thing.

Yep, we do the same. Although, they have toys in every room and every floor except the dining room. We ask for money too - for college. My family listens bit the other side likes to spoil them. :) Not to mention us too.

most times it turns into a toy, money and cloths. They always say here is some money towards ___ but they need something fun to open.

Oh, yeah. They need to open presents too. My family will give a nice small gift and money with it.

I get in trouble every Christmas for overdoing it. I think we held some things back last Christmas cuz we had way too much. It took them about 3 or 4 days to finally open everything.

just think, today it's trucks, cars, remote controls, baby dolls and playhouses.

In a few years, it'll be automobiles and cell phones.

I'm THERE! Sometimes I wish we were back in the toy days. Things really were so much easier.

After that, you won't be picking anything up but calling them asking where your so and so is. Mine come and borrow what they need but sometimes they forget you loaned it and keep it until you need it again. lol

This is the story of my life too Sandy!! From lawnmowers to underwear. They just seem to vanish into thin air. Once it walks out the door with them I kiss it goodbye!!! LOL!!

One year it was my socks until I went to get some and there were none!! Ahh...but they give us those grandkids and that makes up for everything.

I remember the days of picking up after my children and thinking it would never end. My son was a pill. And now he has a 3 year old that is just like him (there's justice for you) I miss that little boy who was always in trouble or at the emergency room!! :'(

I have not had to take my trouble maker to the ER yet but it is coming. I know it is. He is too fearless and climbs on tooooooo much stuff to not get really hurt. We would joke that he would have stitches before his first birthday but at 18 months he still has not had any. He just feel the other day and hit the corner of the wall, got a nice lump and bruise. As soon as he was finished crying, he went right back to spinning till he fell in the exact spot he just got hurt. I moved him away from the wall, he looked at me, and moved back closer to the wall and resumed spinning. This repeated until I handed him a cookie just to get him to stop spinning.

I was thinking of putting a football helmet on him with a full face mask. Think that will help?
