My Beardie has a bump on her right hind leg. She is still energetic and limps around. She recently suffered impaction and was treated. The bump is hard. I will take her to a vet but, I am having a hard time finding any that aren't already full. She is a few years old.

Ooo yea , that needs some vet attention, hopefully its just a cyst, or benign tumor, in the meanwhile can u tell us what lighting ur using? (red, blue, colored bulbs /coil “compact UVB bulbs are a BIG No no, these cause eye problems, offer little to no uvb)

We wanted to get a different bulb for her since the pet sitter had to get a new one and didn't know what to get but, we got caught up with this.

I am not sure what that bulb is since the pet sitter got it, but it would be helpful to point me in the right direction on what bulb to get!

Ohh poor baby. Yeah, I'd try and get it checked by a vet if you can. Crossing fingers it's nothing serious. I'll let the experts help you with that and achieving perfect temps with lights. Definitely don't leave that red light on at night. You'll want a standard basking bulb appropriate to your tank. Depending on location of basking spot and size of tank. This is the one I'm using in my tanks. My younger one's temp sits at about 109.5 as his basking spot is closer to the bulb and my older beardies is more like 103-104 (depending on temperature in the house) and his basking spot is closer to the bottom of his tank. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

You need a “long tubular uvb” not a “mvb” or “coil” preferably you want a t5 10.0 (the fixture itself needs to have a reflector inside (so the uvb gets directed downward) arcadia 12% bulbs are also very good quality.

I just called the virtual vet, and she said it might be just an absess that can be removed! I will go to another vet soon and remove it!
That's great news! Sounds like it will be an relatively easy fix and it sounds like it's not really bothering her, which is good. :) Thanks for the update. Keep us posted.

Im sorry thats the diagnosis…. And there’s a possibility it will go somewhere else…

I live very rural with farm animals, I love pets, but we have a certain limit of what we allow animals to suffer through, we’ve had many animals put down, some that weren’t even ours…

I’m sorry your beardie has cancer, that’s very sad. Its your call, the risk that it might not be caught in time plus the cost, however it could work just fine and your beardie might live many more years, it’s a tough decision that only you can make. Think it over and see where you end up. Sending hugs to you and your little one.
