Hi everyone! I just got my baby bearded dragon on the 23rd of December and An she seemed to be adjusting okay to her new home. Well yesterday I edited her tank drastically and added some new accessories to it, I rearranged her lights and basking spot as well. I also fed her the last of my crickets that I have and have been running around to different stores trying to find more since where I live there is a cricket shortage so I have fed her three mealworms Today to try to make it to Tuesday when I can buy more. Today when I went to turn on her lights she was darker than usal and she has stress spots on her stomach and this has been all day and they haven’t faded away. She I don’t know what could be making her stressed maybe the rearrang or maybe the lack of insects? I don’t know what to do!

Having darker colors in the morning is normal for beardies, but they should lighten up later in the day.
What lights do you use (brand and type)?
I also recommend you get a timer for your lights so you don't have to turn them on and off yourself.

Hi thank you for responding! on one of my other threads I listed the lights I have I just can’t remember off the top of my head, I took her out for a little bit and her stress spots seemed to go away. I have a basking lamp and uvb going 12 hours a day, should I have a ceramic one going during the day for added heat as well?

You don't need a ceramic lamp if your enclosure temps are in a good range. If the stress spots seem to go away when you take her out, they might be caused by the tank changes. If they don't go away within a day or two it's probably something in the tank bothering her.

Lighting in the tank is crucial- uvb and basking temps--- the sudden decor change will stress them out--- I put a fake plastic plant in hiccups tank it has a magnet that is stuck to the back wall of tank up high so he doesn't eat it he has never tried but anyway he stared at that plant for like a week or so waiting for it to move- he now sleeps under it on the decor piece I have-- they don't like change- so maybe one piece at a time--
