So I'm looking into getting another beardie, I have one right now and I'd like to keep the enclosures rather close as I am low on space. I'm very into the whole diy thing with enclosures and I'd reaalllyyy like to create one with a cabinet of some sort. I came across this ( http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60303481/ ) on IKEA's website and was wondering if this would be safe? Problems with wood or paint, maybe? Hanging the lamps from above in each section and obviously I would change the flooring to something like non-adhesive linoleum, I didn't think the sizing was a problem. My current beardie is in a 55 gal. so it would be a bit of a downgrade but he hardly uses the entire thing as he is either basking or running outside of the tank. I'd like some feedback please! Thanks.

For that much money I would just build 2 stackable vivs to be honest... look them up to get some ideas. That way you could make them to your sizes and needs specifically. Otherwise, the only draw-back to that IKEA piece is that the whole front slides, meaning both enclosures would be open at the same time... not sure if that's an issue for you or not.

That is really pretty. Coming from Ikea though, I'm not sure what it is made of. You need something that is going to stand up to high heat and moisture (from when you clean the tank)

I went back and read the description. It's made from particle board. Particle board is not very forgiving and easily warps and if you drill a hole to screw something in, over time it's going to weaken. I'm also not sure about the "lacquer" they used to finish it. It might give off a toxin when heated.

The partical board is not something that I would use as it's just sawdust mixed with glue pressed together.. I wouldn't trust it to heat and anything that would emit fumes..also not good to hold up to moisture.

I would worry about potential toxins and durability. Have you looked into building your own, stackable, terrariums? I have not built one myself, but I have been doing research so I can build one next month... check it out, there's tons of plans and helpful advice out there!!!
