Hi all,

When u get a beardie and it's a norm colour, when does it start to show any colouring if its going to?

I was wondering that mine was norm or a morph

He is showing a lot of orange on legs and back and beard when nice and worm,

He is now 12" stl, 5" svl and 6 months weighing 80g

Where did you buy him from? Mine is orange he's been orange since we bought him. Seems like they are about the same age. I'll take a pic and upload it.

First of all, your BD is obviously a normal BD & not any type of Morph unless it happens to be sporting clear claws that the picture is not showing. This Post May help you understand what a 'Morph' is.

Morphs as I understand them.

As far as color goes, a BD can change tones with almost every shed, some stay consistent, yet I have seen drastic color change or enhancement after a shed in older BDs too. There are some BDs, that it is almost like getting a new dragon after every shed, others will change very little. It's a wait & see kinda deal. You cannot really pin a Breeder color to one such as Sunfire, Citrus, Sandfire, etc. because they are Brand names that particular breeders name their particular stock. If you don't know it's actual Bloodline & have a Red BD, that is what you have is a red normal BD, if it's yellow, you have a yellow normal BD.

Naming a Blue Ford a Chevrolet because we once saw a picture of a Blue Chevy, they are both Blue & they are both cars but it is not right to call them the same name & neither is the same scenario for BDs.

Mine is my pretty orange baby lol I guess it means more to people that want to breed them. He's going to shed soon and it will be brighter. His chin is white with orange lines in it. I bought him at Petsmart so he's a norm.

Oh ye, can't wait now for him to shed and see if he has a bit of a change,

The more light u can give does that help with the colour? I got a 3ft 10.0 if I got a 42" 10.0 also does that help make a difference,??

What ur setup like slices mommy?

This pic is about a month old. I have a double dome both have halogen flood lights in them. The light on the right side is now on the left behind the dome lights. That's my UVB and I also had a long hood that ran across the back from when we used it as a fish tank and it has the repti-sun 10.0 in it. I'm not sure the lights have to do with the color he will be. All around good care and lighting helps him grow. I've had mine for 3 months and i'm not sure how old they are before they go to the pet store. I'm assuming he's about 4 months and about 12 inches maybe a little more his tail is going to shed hopefully soon it's seems to take the longest.

Nice setup,

What u mean longer nose

Mine is roughly 12" but only weighs 80g not sure if that correct tho,

When I got mine the petshop said he was 7/8 months but looking at him and what people say he I think is more like 5/6 months maybe less

His viv

From the first pic it looked like his nose was a little pointy and mine is more round but the other pic it looks like mine. From what I've seen his side of his face and everything else that is orange now will get brighter with every shed. The rest you'll just have to wait to see what else turns orange lol. You can see how mine is I never thought he would be so orange.

Your viv is very nice!

Keep giving him veggies he'll come around. It just depends on the day yesterday he hardly ate but today he ate about 20 crickets 3 Mealworms then about a hour later he was eating greens. Mine is starting to want to chase crickets I usually squeeze them so they don't get away and hide behind his background. Only having him 3 weeks and if he's about to shed he'll start eating a lot once he gets used to you and everything and loses that old skin. Take pics for me after he sheds.

they are both normal Bds, just like mine. though normal BDs are becoming more rare due to everyone wanting the bright colors and such so they get morphes
