For the past few days, we've been having some Arctic Cold temperatures not in the minuses, luckily. It's just been so cold every single day. Our house goes below 65 at night. I've got the bird and roaches covered up preventing a cold drafts into the cage and bin. I even have substrates in the roach bin.
The daytime temps climb up to 67-68 degrees during the day because of the sun helping us warm up the house. However I've noticed that Maya has eaten very little greens and is eating her roaches. (She is starting to shed) She hasn't eaten much tonight and around 12 PM, she decided to go into pre-brumation. I know she's clear of pinworms and coccidia. Her poops are still a bit well hydrated and are normal. She will go under her paper towels and try to pre-brumate. I have her lights on at the same time every day. I'd take her out and let her sleep on me to warm up because she doesn't wish to go under her basking lights. After a while, she'll be basking and then later on, she'll try to pre-brumate again. I'm hopeful when it gets a bit warmer, she'll stop.
She's not old enough, I'm told. She's 9-10 months old now and I have heard they go through pre-brumation.
