Hi, I’m a new owner of a beardie and don’t know alot about them yet. I got a 3month old beardie 2 weeks ago and everything seems to fine except he is closing his eyes. He has been eating A LOT. And seems to be okay with me as his new mom already. We’ve been bonding for the past 4 days, he has snuggled up to my hair and taken a nap with me etc. So like doesn’t seem like anything would be wrong. But he is closing his eyes many times a day, while basking, everytime I give him food he closes them, then opens again and eats. Also sometimes when I pet him. But I just wanted to ask is this normal behaviour? You see I have 2 chameleons aswell and I know that when chameleons close their eyes it’s a sign of stress or some illness, I had some eye problems with one of my chams and got him to the vet and got some eyedrops to get him well. I don’t know alot about beardies, Ozzy is my first one so this is why I’m kinda worried about him closing eyes. What do you guys think, is it normal or is something wrong? I’ll put a picture of him aswell :)

Hello, could you post a picture of his tank? Could you post more pictures of him at different angles? what are you feeding him?

Hope these pictures are good enough. I give him dubia roaches, crickets and silkworms. Also salad as in dandelion leaves, kale and some veggies.

Your husbandry looks good and he seems to be healthy! I wouldn't be too worried as long as he seems to be healthy. If you have any concerns though, you can always take him to a vet. Also that is a really cool background you have, where did you get it?

mine does the same I read up somewhere that it means they are stressed or mad when they do that but I’m pretty sure that’s not true. I also had a friend tell me that means they are calm and happy. and he has 3 bearded dragons. So I believe him. I am pretty sure your bearded dragon is perfectly fine.

Okay I will see if he keeps doing that. And thank you, I had my friend custom build it inside the tank :)
