Closing his eyes in annoyance of frustration

My baby beardie always closes his eyes when I’m spraying him. I read that when they close their eyes they are mad or annoyed. He obviously doesn’t want to be sprayed. I don’t want him to hate me. And he lowers his head and body like he is scared. I guess I’ll just stop spraying him. It’s true that they are scared or nervous when they close their eyes right?

not always true! he may be closing his eyes so water doesn’t get in his eyes. beardies also close their eyes when they are being petted which shows they feel safe or comfortable! if he doesn’t like to be sprayed you can drop water on his nose/mouth so he can lick it up!
