Car rides and Outside Exposure

I've had my bearded for a month. She is 3 years old. I've noticed that she's terrified of car rides and will hide under the seat. I don't want to stress her out but will she eventually get used to it? Also, how often do you take her out to other places? I usually take her outside but never anywhere else. I'm afraid she might poop on me because she's done it once and it seemed like a stress poop. Anyone have any tips?

Well you could possibly put her in a cat carrier to make her feel safe in a smaller space, if you do that make sure it's got blankets in it or is soft so she doesn't accidentally hurt herself or anything
I take fox (he's almost 4) on car rides occasionally and I keep him close to me, he doesn't try to hide but he kinda just freezes up; if your worried about them pooping keep a blanket with you, fox will poop and I will catch it on the small blanket and put it in a plastic bag. I'll either throw it outside or wash the blanket if there is a washer available.

I take Izzy with me a few places but she really likes to just hang out on my chest so that's usually where she will hang out. I usually have a leash on her so if she does get wiggly I have that.. I would be afraid of them getting up under the pedals and into the dash..... I do the carrier with blankets/towels in there so it's soft.
I take her outside when it's warm so she can get some good old Vit D and again while on leash.. This summer since my rescue bird passed we are taking the legs off the flight cage we made her and I will use that to let Izzy free in while I'm outside doing something, this way she can just chill in the cage without me worrying about her escaping or a hawk or eagle swoop down (yes we have a ton of them here)

The only place I take mine to is the pet store. So far Dexter is the only one that is calm enough to go. I always put a leash on her and usually tuck her under my sweater or coat to make her feel safe. I don't drive so we walk and I always go slow and calm her because I can see her head bobble as she's taking in all the sights and stresses. I also give her a bath before we go anywhere to make sure she poops before we go :)

in a car - please - ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS on a leash !!! or - in a closed carrier. they can get under a seat, under the pedals or even OUT THE WINDOW. if she is stressed in the car - don't take her in the car. or start slow. sit in the car, but don't move. drive around the block. drive around the block twice. etc. Mine have never had any problems - they're all different.

Mine is a car ride lover! I take her in the car line everyday to drop off and pick up my kiddos. She just sits on my chest.

My bearded dragon is 7-8 months old and he loves car rides. I wear a tank top put him on my skin, toss jacket on over the top (but leave it open at the top so he can see out)and off we go! He stays white, never puffs up and once the car is nice and toasty I unzip. He usually just wanders onto my arm and stares out the window or uses my forearm as a perch and watches out the windshield. I am getting him accustomed to it now so come summer we can do road trips to the beach and state parks!

I can’t wait to get mine out and about but it has been winter since I rescued him so no outdoors at the moment… But I am sure we will have great time during summer.
