Can't breath?

Nova's started opening her mouth at random times and breathing through it. It's not her controlling her temperature, I can actually hear her breath out when she opens her mouth. What could it be?

Is there anything new happening in the home? It could be from stress. My oldest beardie does that more often when he is going to shed and our new little one does it to make herself seem bigger... There is almost a hiss. I'm not a professional by any means. If you feel like something is wrong you should find a reptile vet. I hope everything is OK:bd:

Opening the mouth and "hissing" is usually a sign something is upsetting her. She probably need time to get adjusted to the new tank. I would limit her time out of her tank and treat her just as you did when you first brought her home. Limit holding her maybe just hold her right before she goes to sleep. Keep her feeding schedule the same as it was when she was in the other tank so that she realizes it's not a bad place. Keep talking to her. She'll eventually calm down.

When I first got Luci he did that a lot. Whatever you do don't show her that you are afraid of her. She'll eventually realize that her tantrum isn't getting her anywhere!

Oh she knows I'm not afraid of her lol I'll touch her around the mouth and stuff when she does it. Also, could she be stressed because I'm stressed and picking up on that? She seemed fine when I first put her in the larger cage and just recently started doing this

She could be picking up on your stress. Is there a certain area of her tank that she does this? or does she do it all over her tank? When you put her in a bigger tank did you move it to a different part of the house? By a window or a heat vent maybe?

She might also be upset cause I had to get my dad to feed her a couple of mornings and she's not used to him.

got her out for a few minutes when I got home today and she wasn't doing it. I think she did it once but it was because my hair spooked her lol
