YES! Just make sure all the spikes are removed. Some people say to peel it but I've fed it to mine with the peel on. It's very slimy without the peel.

No problem. Dexter used to love it when she used to eat her salads. It's hard to find around here. I have a coworker that will bring it in for me sometimes. You can eat it too. If you put some oil on it you can throw it on the grill, it tastes like pickles!
