I know you are tired f this topic. I have been trying to find out what I can use for the sides of my enclosure. I was going to use screen wire for the front doors. So I can open the front to clean it easy. I was told that screen was not good for the front. I was just wondering if I could use 1 1/4 inch mesh wire instead. Something like chicken wire. I don't want to use glass of any kind, but I do want to be able to see him. So that is why i thought o the wire mesh.

I think it might depend on your climate. Of you don't want to use glass, I would go with wood. Anything like chicken wire is ultimately not going to hold in any heat at all and will allow any humidity right in, which you can trust when I tell you, you do not want too much humidity. I'm sorry, but I don't believe you can use anything that you can see through unless it's glass plexiglass or plastic.

Great! Thanks for taking my comments for what they were, genuine care and help and not taking offense or believing it to be an attack. It's sometimes difficult to give advice through this medium. I am actually going to be starting a project very soon myself! I'm so excited to get started, a friend is giving me an old armoire, so I have the basic structure with an enact shelf in the middle. I will be converting it to a two level terrarium for my girl with the option of closing off to have two separate enclosures. All I really have to purchase will be customized glass doors.

I'm glad to have the advice. I'm new to haveing an BD even though o have had him for 6 months. He is about 9 months old. I just want to keep him well and happy. I posted a pic of the cabinet I'm going to use. I just needed an idea for the doors. I want to make him a play ground with ladders and climbing Post and shelfs for him to lay on. I am going to put him a pool in for his water. The botten and side wall will be self stick tile. I know to calk all the seems and holes or cracks. Its going to take me some time to put it together. I hope it turns out nice. Thanks for the reply.

I don't have a picture of the one I am getting yet, but it is very similar to this. I would've preferred something a little wider but I don't have the space in my apartment. It already has a fixed shelf directly in the middle of the double doors, so I intend to make a two story "condo". If all goes accordingly, I should only have to spend money on replacing the doors. My dragon's name is Hermione, my son and I are huge Harry Potter fans, so the condo will hopefully be able to get a custom backdrop of Hogwarts. I have to do some Web surfing to find the perfect one[emoji5]

I already have the light sockets attached to wire mesh that will be stapled to the top of the inside. And holes for cords and vents are already cut. I'm super excited to get started.

Glass is probably your best bet, yes. You can use hardware cloth, but glass will look much better and give you more control over heating too.

True, but it will warp from the heat over time and gets scratched fairly easily. Plus its normally more expensive than glass too. Ive never had a glass enclosure break before to be honest. Glass is pretty strong, especially with such small doors like you would have there.
