I have a new baby beardie named Zoey. We think she's around three months old. I got her as a gift and had no idea how to care for her, so she spent about a month in a 10 gallon. I just moved her to a 55 gallon, and I'm very concerned about her. She's been laying in the spot that's closest to her heat lamp for a full day. She moves around sometimes but not often. She still eats her crickets mostly, but refuses to eat her veggies. I don't know if she's too cold, or she's adjusting to having a bigger tank. Should I be concerned??

What are you using for a basking bulb and UVB light? What are her basking temps, and what are you using to measure them? 3 months is way too young to brumate, so her metabolism may be slowing down because of incorrect temperatures or lighting.
Does she get calcium supplements and gut-loaded crickets? How many hours of light does she get each day?

Yes what are you using for a UVB? NO coils please they are inadequate --- you need a 24" fixture w/ reflector like a Zoo Med -- w/ a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 for a 55 gallon tank and you need to get this ASAP ---- she should be active eating and basking and pooping not acting lethargic --

For UVB she has a 30 inch terrarium hood with 10.0 uvb lighting (17 watts) and her basking light is 150 watts. I haven't measured the temps yet, what should I use for that?? Her crickets are always gut loaded and get calcium 5ish days a week with salads every day even if she doesn't want them, and she usually gets UVB and daylight heating 13-16 hours a day. I have a nightheater for her that doesn't emit light, just heat which I put on every night. It's black and 100 watts. What should I change??

We have the Zoomed 30" terrarium hood and a 10.0, and definitely not a coil heating. The heating is a 150 watt and is above a hammock which she's spent most of her time on. She's been pooping fine as far as I can tell, and she is a pretty active eater most of the time, just refuses to eat veggies and sometimes will eat a little less crickets then usual.

Your setup is good, and the night heater you're using is fine. You can measure the temps with digital probe thermometers designed for reptiles or a temp gun. During the winter, beardies need around 8 hours of light and 10-12 hours in the summer. If they aren't on one already, consider buying a timer to put the lights on a cycle. Too much light can lead to not enough sleep.

Thanks for the help, I'll get a timer and temp gun asap!!

No one asked what type of hood? It cannot have a plastic cover over the bulb. Also what type of screen, if the holes are not large enough in the screen then Zoey may not be getting enough uvb because the hood type, brand & screen matter.
Are you bathing her? Does she drink from the bath water, water dish? My baby won't drink from a dish & I haven't bathed because I'm unable to hold so I mist with dechlorinated water one or two times daily & just started using a dropper to place water on his nose which he hasn't really grasped that yet. Also mist her veggies & before giving insects.
place tiny pieces of veggies/fruit (mine started eating greens only because he tasted strawberries first) next to her face either using fingers or tweezers. She should be hungry enough to take it. Mine won't eat veg or fruit unless I hand feed before giving insects. I dust crickets twice a day with a calcium/multivitamin combo.
Give your crickets orange slices, beardies need vitamin C! babies need alot of calcium & a multivitamin.

The best thing to feed baby is Phoenix worms (buy online) they don't need dusted, have lots of calcium & boosts the babies immune system. Definitely try to get these!

Try lightly misting to make sure she isn't dehydrated!
I purchased vivarium thermometer & hygrometer to check temp & humidity & its highly rated considering other items in this category.
(Remove water dish at night)

Hey,
Generally it would be advised baby bearded dragons should have their food dusted with calcium about 4-5 times a week, and no more than 1 time per day.
Multi-vitamin about 2-3 times a week, on days they are not given calcium, never more than 1 time per day.

If you are dusting twice a day with calcium and multi-vitamin, this is too much. I am not a long-term beardie owner but the above info seems to be on most care sites regarding dusting.

:)
