Has anyone ever tried breeding superworms?
I tried once and they were in the tackle box for over 3 weeks and never started to turn??
Any tricks or tips you can share, for those who have been successful?
:)

I think temperature is key. I tried to breed crickets once but I couldn't keep the tank warm enough for them to incubate.

I wonder if when the supers turn to beetles if you could feed those to your beardie????

I've made 2 previous attempts and im in the middle of my 3rd. It seems to be going well. I had a lot of die offs so this time I jeff a small sprinkle of powdered oatmeal in each section and it seemed to help everyone turn. Also keeping in a warm dark place is best. It's all about patience

I always thought superworms were sterile 0.0

They are very clean. I've had mine for a few weeks now in a 5 gallon breeder with oats and there is no smell and no noise. I just wish my girl wouldn't have decided that she doesn't want supers after I bought 500, LOL!

Sterile. Not dirty. Look up "sterile"

Well I work in a medical office so naturally when I saw "sterile" I went with the OTHER meaning...clean, LOL!

Now on to the meaning that you were referring to, I would have to agree that they are sterile for they don't produce eggs. They morph into beetles which in turn lay eggs that turn into superworms. So we probably shouldn't call it "breeding supers" because they really aren't breeding!

Breeding supers is very easy, the bigger they are, the faster they'll pupate. I only started in March and I have about 50 beetles, hundreds of tiny babies, and a new lot I'm forcing now. They were huge and turned in a few weeks. Warmer temps help, but I started during a Canadian winter and was successful even though it wasn't exactly tropical in my house.
