I have recently been seeing tons of them. They are surprisingly pretty for a bug with the black bodies and the thin accents of red. I was almost tempted to catch one in a jar and observe it lol. From what I've read they are considered pests but they didn't say how they were pests. Anyone have any idea?

Yes I have a STRONG idea of them being pests. Every year those things crowd the crevices of my garage doors to the point where it looked like we had black trim for our garage (it is really white) Theyre a mess. Just a heads up DONT LET THEM INSIDE :). Theyre still pretty though :)

They like hangin out on our apartment complex's back door. Nothing inside though. The only bugs in my apartment are the ones I buy except for the occasional fly or moth

I don't they should be fed but I'm not sure. The red color would make me leary of feeding them

Well I just found some info on what other bugs they share a family with. They are related to stink bugs, water bugs, cicadas, assasin bugs and a couple more.
