Black foot

Hello. I’ve had my first beardie for about 7 months now from a 6week old baby. Everything has been smooth and he’s apparently healthy in my little expertise. He eats well and is the same size as beardies that are a couple years old. I noticed today while handling him, that on one foot, his toes and bottom of this foot are turning black. It’s only this one foot and I wasn’t able to find a related topic in this forum. Help and advice please!

What kind of substrate do you use? Does your dragon run around the tank a lot?

He doesn’t run around a lot to the best of my knowledge. I’m also gone from 7am to 7pm every day. I’m currently using paper towels as a substrate. It makes clean up so easy.

It sorta looks like stuck shed. I would give him some extra baths and gently scrub his foot with a soft toothbrush. You can also rub some Reptile Shedding Aid on his foot at night before his lights go out and see if that loosens anything. If it looks like it’s getting worse, have a vet look at it.

My boy used to have horrible looking feet because he ran around his tank all day, it was almost like he gave himself calluses. His feet were always discolored. Eventually he stopped being so crazy and his feet are back to normal looking.
