So, I am going to redo my beardie’s tank into a bioactive tank. I will have live plants, eco earth, and driftwood in her enclosure. Would that be a bad idea? I would feed her in a bowl. I already ordered a new 24” uvb build and fixture. I also would appreciate it if y’all could post pics of your cages (bioactive or not) cause I am in need of inspiration. Thanks.

Its a pvc zen habitat 4x2x2 enclosure , for the walls i have cork bark tiles and a sand matt, for the left side of the enclosure i did two different types of hard clay, the brand in the back is “stone desert” and its kinda redish orange, for the other clay its “excavator clay” brand, in the middle i have sand from outside my house (use sand thats rated “play sand” and you’ll be okay, dont put more than 50% of the enclosure with sand) on the right side of the enclosure from the bottom up i have clay balls as a drainage layer(not needed though) i have potting soil (NO vermiculite, no “hydro balls” and absolutely NO fertilizers) i mixed the soil with 20% sand , 10%spagnum moss some dead leaf matter for the bugs to eat, a small amount of clay throughout the blend, on top of all that i put about 2-3 inches of regular “repti bark” as a pretty top layer and to act as a “lizard litter” so i just pick up whats dirty.
now only half the enclosure is bioactive so there’s no bugs on the left side of the enclosure , the bugs that are in the enclosure turning the dirt are , springtails, pill bugs, super/mealworms (beetle form aswell) some pincher bugs (idk if they’re still a live) a giant millipede (that may or may not be toxic) either way it is a burrowimg millipede and ive never seen it since i put it in) it’s important when adding bugs to have ur bioactive enclosure started months prior to adding bugs. If u have any questions lemme know.
