Hi. I own a male, 3 year old bearded dragon named mr, beardy. All his life he’s taken a while to poop. Usually 1-3 weeks. I feed him baby arugula with cilantro. And occasionally super worms. He always eats his food. And always takes a while to go poop. Right now he hasn’t gone in a long time. It’s been 3-4 weeks now and I’m getting worried. He’s not lethargic AT ALL. Eats his food every day. And is pretty active, but if I take him out he’s very active. He lives in a 40 gallon breeder from the kit from zoomed. Has water available and food as well. His basking temperature is 90-95 depending on outside temperature. Cool spot is 75. He lives to sit in his basking spot and just chill. I have multiple logs that he perches up onto. When he’s hungry, he will jump around and eat and stuff. I live in Western Maryland. For climate sake. Am I doing anything wrong? He looks happy. But he hasn’t pooped in almost a month. He usually always takes a while to poop. Please help me if you could. Thank you.

Basking spot isn't hot enough at all. Superworms arent really a staple and are more or less a treat I suggest getting dubia roaches there much more healthier and easier to have on hand rather then going to the pet store all the time for feeders . I keep my bearded dragons basking temperature at 95-115. Maybe offer some fruit Strawberries or bananas grapes etc.Your uvb lighting isnt correct not adequate enough the coils aren't good for beardies you need a 24inch linear flourescent uvb either an Arcadia 12% uvb or a Reptisun 10 0 linear flourescent bulb

I agree -- you need to get a digital probe thermometer - the stick ons are not accurate -- I would also look at upgrading Mr Beardies tank -- a 40 gallon tank is not big enough for a full size dragon --- he needs a 75-120 gallon tank -- look on FB Marketplace or Craigslist for a tank try and find one that has front doors --- also if you find one make sure you sanitize it w/ Zoo Meds Wipe Out or Rescue ---- here are some links for what you need the pet store will probably not have this fixture
https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-high-output-terrarium-hood 24" fixture it comes w/ a 5.0 bulb hang on to it it can be used as a back up but distance and placement is different from the one you need which is this one
22" bulb https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-100-uvb-high-output-bulbs
this fixture will go right into a 75-120 gallon tank think of this as an investment
When you get the UVB let me know I will help you get it placed in the tank this is crucial
When you get this all fixed he should start pooping better
Your basking temps and UVB are the most IMPORTANT things in the tank please get this done ASAP

I may build my own enclosure. Out of wood and plexiglass. I will try to build it much larger than the current setup. I will build it safe for him as well.

Obvious question-do you bathe him at least once a week at baby bottle hot water? It’s sure fire for mine and reduces the cage poop. I use a large tupper with holes and let him sit for 15 min.

Idk. Mine is 10. My first beardie died of constipation. Just following my vets orders and keeps him regular

I struggled with a similar issue at one point, do a bit more bathing and definetly get a new lamp set up.

Can cause irregular bowl patterns you need a proper heat and uvb that's what a good veterinary would've suggested your animal your call alot of impaction is from improper husbandry. Occasionally soaks to relieve a big meal helps but your just creating unhealthy habitats having in only stoolnin bathes Research it yourself bathing like that constantly to deal with them not pooping can cause something to happen don't remember quite what it was

My beard is seems to need crickets to poop. (I imagine Dubias would do same thing)
