Hi,

I did a search on this question and nothing came up. I have to go out of town for a 2 nights and 3 days here in a bit. I have no one at home to take care of my dragon so I am wondering if I can take him with me? I have seen reptile carriers at the pet store. Will they let me bring him on the plane?

There is probably no way I can leave him alone for 3 days right?

Thanks for the help.

I dont think its a viable option. I would imagine he'd probably freeze in the hold of the plane, and will probably be extremely stressful.

Some pet stores offer a lodging type thing, maybe its worth speaking with a local breeder or pet store

That's a good point about lodging. I can ask petsmart if they host lizards as well as dogs and cats.

I dont think he will be allowed on the actual plane. Everything has to be secured. Always worth asking?

And yeah, i live in the UK so my local reptile store does lodging. Most places will, providing you have the correct equipment. But i wouldn't trust exotics with someone that hasnt got experience.

Maybe your local vetinary surgery?

How old is your dragon? as that will make it easier to help.. If it's a baby they need fed 3x a day that would make it hard.. But if your dragon is an adult they can easily go 3 days..If so you want to load them up before you leave on bugs and their greens.. Then right before you go give them a good bath to let them drink and poop if that's where they do their business..Then make a big salad with some water at the bottom of the dish, in the other bowl do supers as those will last at room temp and not get out of the bowl and or a bowl of dubia.... then when you get back get them into the sink and start your routine over. And put your lights on timers..

I would try the vet and see if they can board it or maybe a vet tech can come to your house and feed him. I've left mine for 2 full days with just a green salad. I feed them real good and bathed them before I left and right when I got back but they were older when I did this. Babies need more care and really do need someone to feed them multiple times a day.
