Beardie will not eat Dubia roaches

So I decided to switch my beardie from crickets to Dubia Roaches. I started feeding the Dubias to my bearded dragon Friday and he ate 3 that day and I feed him 2 times a day. Now today he will not even touch a Dubia. Is there a way to get them to eat? I don’t want him to go to long without food but he is eating his greens. Also he is roughly 5 months and 14 inches long. His basking area is at 95-105.

Usually if its moving they go for it... make sure the dubia are appropriate size. You could try feeding him with tongs or just putting one in the tank and letting it run around. At 5 months he needs more proteins than veggies, so if he refuses to eat dubia you may have to go back to crickets. They are such eating machines at that age though its unusual for them not to eat - so maybe double check his enclosure for correct temps.

his basking spot could do with being a bit hotter, should be 105-115. You could try smaller dubias, I seem to remember my dragons finding the larger ones a bit imposing at first, the small ones they gobble up like candies. As Krissy said above, if it moves its usually dinner. I found giving the dubias a nudge to get them moving was enough to get their hunting instincts to kick in. At 5 months he should be getting through 30-50 small dubias in a day , the cost can soon mount up. Keep his diet varied, it will all be cool.
