Hi, I know I'm here a lot but I like to make sure my bearded dragon is ok. She's shedding so I was thinking that might be the reason but she spends a lot of time in her hide, which is on the cool side, and I'm kind of worried. I don't think she's a year old yet, I got her July of last year I believe? But if you have an idea of what's going on please tell me

Spending a lot in her hide at her age is not good - she should be active eating basking and pooping -- lighting in the tank has alot to do w/ behavior --- please tell me what your using for a UVB NO coils they are inadequate -- basking temps should be 95-100 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer-- we will start there

My uvb is the normal long one with no coils, and the last time I checked the temperature was a perfect 100. The tank is clean and I've been feeding her the right amount, she eats normally still. I haven't taken her out in a while so idk how active she would be but maybe I should test that.

Ok so tell me what the long tube UVB is--- the brand and the bulb T 5 or T 8 each bulb has different placement and distance --- the UVB and basking temps control the behavior and over all health of the dragon -- you checked the temp w/ a digital probe thermometer ?

The brand is thrive. I don't have that kind of thermometer at the moment but I have a normal digital one, i know it's not that accurate but I'm trying to get a new one. Here's some pictures of the cage and the light, I know the cage is bare but I'm going to get a new cage and new things for her very soon. When it was colder I had the basking light and a ceramic heater bulb on but I recently turned the ceramic one off, she was doing this before I turned it off though.

Ok so I see no reflector on the UVB fixture--- so since you are going to upgrade the tank you need to start w/ the lighting in the tank first ---- the tank can wait but the lighting cannot -- it is the most important thing along w/ the correct basking temps I am going to post what you need for the UVB as it sits right NOW the dragon is getting no UVB --- first the thrive bulb is junk next the T 8 is not strong enough to go thru the screen --- all T 8 's need to go inside the tank for best UVB and next there is no reflector on the fixture so even if it was in the tank the UVB rays are going all over the tank - reflectors direct the UVB rays downward towards the dragon and it intensifies the rays which you want --- I am post links to what you need to get ASAP--https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-terrarium-hood.html a 24" fixture this will go into a 40+ gallon tank -- there is a 5.0 bulb that comes w/ this fixture hang on to it it can be used as a back up but the distance and placement is different from the one that I want you to get
the bulb is out of stock but you can get it elsewhere - but you need to get this stuff ASAP --- your dragon has been getting NO uvb w/ the way it is placed and the bulb is even worse --
this bulb is a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 it is one of the best on the market at this time
https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-10.0-uvb-t5.html 22" bulb -- they are out of stock here but
they have them here https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-100-uvb-high-output-bulbs?variant=40630
you also need this as well ASAP
Please get this stuff ordered NOW and when you get the UVB please let me know so I can help you get it placed in the tank - it needs to be certain distance etc

Not really for the lights installed already
here are some links to tanks
I have two Zen Habitats Randy is a good guy they are the most affordable that I know of - they are light weight I have the PVC tanks they are 4x2x2 or 120 gallon
www.zenhabitats.com
https://carolinadesignerdragons.com/ do not get the lighting that is shown - you cannot move the basking light if you haft to -- it is best to get the fixtures separate -- easier to control the heat etc -- if you want to see what it looks like here is a pic of Blazes tank
