Beardie shedding constantly with little growth?

Hi! We have a beardie that's about a year and a half old now? He's in a ~50gal tank, is shedding like crazy but doesn't seem to be growing.

We're looking into a bigger tank and we might go 100-120gal because we've been having an incredibly hard time finding 75gals with good reviews, feed him mostly kale with occasional fruits and berries. Is the shedding with little visible growth a bad sign of something?

I can get pictures of how big he looks if needed! He fits pretty snug on a flat palm, definitely not tiny but still pretty small compared to some that I've seen.

Hello, how much are you feeding him and what are you feeding him? Also could you post a picture?

We're mostly feeding him kale—he stopped showing interest in crickets a while back, and a vet we took him to recommended that we switch, and also told us to occasionally give him things like blueberries, peeled grapes, and bananas.

This picture is from today, my younger brother (in his teens) is holding him while we cleaned his tank.

I would not suggest feeding him large amounts of kale because of the oxalates which makes it harder to properly absorb calcium. Also what do you mean by "switch" are you not feeding him crickets anymore?

Yes. He ended up getting an impaction(?) and when we took him to see a vet, they said to start him on a veggie-based diet instead of live crickets; they said the crickets were what caused it.

I wanna say they suggested the kale, but I'll start looking into different options though.

Well if you're not feeding him crickets what protein are you giving him?
