Hey friends! I got this cactus hide for my enclosure, but I want it to look more realistic. What type of paint can I use on it that’s safe for my beardie? And what sealants have you used? I don’t want to use anything unsafe but I can’t stand the fake colors!

Non toxic acrylic or latex paint should be fine as long as it has time to set and isn't giving off any smell. Which one you use kind of depends on how/what you want to paint. As far as sealants go, I don't know that you really need to seal if it's painted. If you're sealing plain wood then most kinds of polyurethane or polycrlilic should work well. The surfaces tend to stay relatively dry so one or two layers of sealant is usually plenty unless you're sealing before building a bioactive substrate which will contain a lot more moisture in the soil and require more durable sealing like a marine varurethane
