beardie problems

ok guys heres the problem, i have two bearded dragons, one i know is male and one i know is a female, they are housed in a 125 gallon custom tank and they are both full size. the male used to eat really well, until the female grew larger than him(gurth wise( they are same length)). she has always been a great eater but he no longer eats very much. She does lay on top of him very rarely, otherwise they get along together great. Exept when i take them out of the cage then they fight like they are both males, but one IS a male and one IS a female. My question is, is it that she is stressing him out because she is bigger than he is, and he feels intimidated, or is it that he is bieng dominated by her, and what can i do to solve this. Other info: cage temps and conditions are perfect and he shows no other signs of any parasites or disease, he is very active, loves to explore and basks on his own. any help is appreciated. thanks

He is being dominated by her. Laying on one another is a sign of domination. They should be seperated as soon as possible. Beardies should be housed seperatly all the time even if it's male with female and also female with female (and of couse male with male). They are solitary animals. They ony get together to mate and thats it.

Beardies can sometimes be affected by the other when they just see each other. I have a male and female that are in their own viv next to each other. I had to put a piece of cardboard between the two vivs so they couldn't see each other. The male was glass dancing like crazy when he could see her and the female stoped eating and hid in a corner.

thanks, kinda thought that, just wanted another opinion, but it sucks that i will have to seperate them, they did so well together for many months, but i guess all good things must come to an end. I have a great idea for a double stackable cage, but not sure what to make the sides, bottom and top out of, any suggestions?

Hardwood.
Most of us that make our own Viv's make them out of wood with glass fronts/doors. When you use wood though it has to be hardwood as the softwood with emit fumes when heated.
