I've had my beardie, Atlas, for 5 or so, going on 6 years now. He hasn't really had any preexisting health conditions or problems. I just got him out of Petco and I love him to death. There was a brief period when he was very young that he was starting to develop MBD because I didn't have my UV light for him in the proper place, but after putting it up correctly so he got it all around his enclosure, I was thankfully able to curve it and he hasn't had any problems since.
I let my mom watch him for a bit because it's a sunny day and his tank is near a window so he can see outside. Usually I'd take him out when he starts to surf, though there was a cold front from a storm and it looks warm, though the temp is still only in the low 60s, so I don't like to genuinely have him out for hours at a time in that cold of weather. On top of that, I'm dealing with having the flu myself, and his surfing woke me up so I had my mom take him off my hands to another room for a bit. She threw away a chocolate pudding cup that was mostly empty, though it fell and he put his head in it to check it out and licked it. He got quite a bit on his beard, though we think he only ate a single lick of it if that. To be safe, we put some fresh water in his enclosure with some yellow squash and carrots despite the fact he had dandelions earlier today.
Is there anything else I can/should do to make sure he's alright if he did manage to ingest some? Or would that little of an amount just be something to keep my eye on? Truth be told, years ago he ate a small chunk of deodorant that fell on the ground and was (somehow) fine. I do try to make sure the floor is clean whenever I take him out, though I'd opened a stick of deodorant that was crumbling and fell out and of course, his first instinct was to eat what could fit in his mouth. Again, that was years ago and he was fine, though I do love him and want to make sure he's taken care of.
Thanks in advance!
TLDR: Beardie licked up a bit of chocolate pudding. He seems fine, though is there anything I should do to make sure he doesn't get sick?
