Hey guys I need some help! It’s been almost 2 months since Phoenix has pooped, I’ve been trying everything from poop baths, to more sunlight and UV to stimulate her digestion, and am now trying olive oil (natural laxative). I know it’s colder and she won’t be as active but 2 months seems like a really long time to not have a bowel movement. I'm getting worried because it’s been so long but, she’s eating normally. I’m not sure if I should get her to an exotics vet or if it’s just me being paranoid over her health. She’s acting normally, just not as active thanks to the cold weather. Any ideas???

She’s about 15 months old and I have a felt piece to cover the bottom of her tank. Her basking temps are normal range 95-100 degrees. She’s just started basking again yesterday and Her UVB came with her basking bulb, it’s about a 75w. I’ve heard a lot about the enema thing with the vets and so I didn’t want to take her unless it was absolutely necessary. I haven’t tried the unsweetened applesauce or baby prunes, I’m not sure if she’d actually eat it.

So halfway through responding she went! ...On my bed... Ew. I’ll make sure to keep these things in mind if she ever has this issue again! Thank a bunch!

How old is she? Most of all what is her basking temps in the tank and how are you taking them????? And what are you using for a UVB --- this all goes hand in hand ---- please NO ENEMAS from the vet --- for one it is not uncommon for them to not poop for a long time especially an adult --- you can try unsweetened applesauce or baby prunes --- is she basking ? She will go when shes ready but you can try the natural way I posted a thread on the General Discussion Board about Enemas and the vet please read it -- in the past couple of months we've had a lot of beardies die from the vets giving enemas and it is extremely hard on them --- so please no enemas --- only unless it is absolutely necessary like impaction ----------------- what is the substrate in the tank ??????????????? No loose substrate it causes impaction

What kind of UVB are you using and you might want to either up the bulb wattage or move her closer to basking spot- I would try to get the basking spot to the highest of 110 no higher its nice to offer them a gradient of temps - a log of which she can pick the temp something like this
5103128

this comes from petsmart I have two of them in my tanks and both my dragons love them - offers different areas to sit for different temps

I’ll be needing to get her a new UVB soon anyways so I can up the wattage once I buy that bulb. As for the tree, I’ve been meaning to get one as soon as I can. She has these rock caves she just hides under and she’s gotten too big for them but still squeezes herself into them. Lol. I will definitely be getting new decor for her in the next week or so. Thanks for the advice!
