I'm beginning to hear about people cleaning out their nostrils with a tweezer. Is this necessary?
I worry that I could do some damage, rather be a help.

Yes please do not pick at the shed in the nose -- it will work its way out ---- he will rub on his decor pieces in the tank to loosen it -- you can cause damage doing this --- NEVER pick at shed

Picking shed off is not acceptable, only sometimes if it is stuck around their feet or spot where it can cut off circulation. Sometimes it results in them losing limbs but it doesn't happen often, so for the most part it is best to just leave it for them to get off in their own time. It's natural instinct. They also will eat the shed sometimes it is nutritious for them.

Thank goodness that’s been my approach so far.
