Sorry for posting so much I’m just paranoid lol but my beardie always poops daily and he hasn’t pooped in 5 days now and he normally loves hanging out on his basking rock most of the time but now he’s in his hide for hours which Ik is fine but he sorta looked weak the past few days. We had a power outage for about 8 hours and he didn’t have any light or heat for that time (during the day) and that was 5 days ago the same time he started acting weird. Any reason for concern or should I just go on with taking care of him normally?

update: I see he just pooped very very little but the poop was sorta runny and the white part was dry and crumbed up when I went to clean it. I bathe him once a week and mist his greens and mist him occasionally as well. Maybe he’s dehydrated?

thanx!

Your dragon is dehydrated -- the dry urate means hes dehydrated - but for now either drop water on his nose to see if he will lick or give him a bath to see if he will drink - if he does do not let him gorge himself he will aspirate --- if he starts drinking really fast pull him then try again - make sure he has proper lighting NO coils for a UVB you want a long tube fixture and correct basking temps --- NO stick ons temps should be taken w/a digital probe thermometer -- make sure your insects are gut loaded -- feed them at nite and make sure they have water pellets or carrots ------

So whenever I drop water by his nose he never licks it and he NEVER drinks straight up water no matter what I do. Not from the bath not from the water bowl. Is there a way for me to teach him? Should I see if I can get him to open his mouth maybe with a worm and use a dropper and slip in a few drops? That’s prob a bad idea haha. My insects are gut loaded. He didn’t get crickets this week because all stores around me didn’t have but I gave him a few extra meal worms. Maybe should I get horn worms? I know that they give a lot of water. My lighting and uvb are all good you helped my set it up when I first got him :)

Ok hornworms are good they grow very fast so you can order small ones from dubiaroaches.com please start getting your insects on line pet stores are expensive and unreliable especially in the winter you can use a eye dropper to feed the water slow and let him swallow what you put in - I would get switched over to dubias they are easier to care for and more nutritious- they last longer too- you can set up a 10 gallon tank or tote feed dubia food w/ water crystals-

Get a spray bottle , just spray the top of his snoot, not getting it in his nose, wait till he laps it up, then spray inside his mouth, this is how i water my dragon.

my bearded dragon has the same problem, what Iv'e noticed, is if he eats a few too many mealworms or super worms he tends to get constipated easily. Until he poops you might want to lay off on the mealworms for him. Thats what helped my beard!
