Hi all, Ive been contemplating getting Pogie a better carrier than the bird cage thingy. It really works GR8 @ home but to town / vet etc... its a bother.
So did some browsing and found it was gonna cost like R500 + (Over $60-80) to buy. NO WAYS

Then today I found this cool tog bag (really cheap and I liked the design too). Cut out the side pocket and part of 1 of the side panels. Bought some netting and put it where I cut the bag. Got some poly pipe and elbow connectors, made a frame that fit inside and TADA.

Really easy to make and really cheap and weighs next to nothing. The whole project cost me less than R120 (less than $20)

What do you think ???

Also the other pocket I can put her hot water bottle or rice bag in for heat LOL

I have something similar for all four of my dragons.. A small dog/cat carrier... has the mesh on all four sides, solid bottom, and 3 pockets..
Cost me like $20 each at my local discount store..

The most popular kinds of dog/cat carrieres here are a hard plastic type similar to the pic below. And costs about R170-00
I wanted something kinda atylish like a bag, and saw one on junkmail for R180-00 second hand, then shipping had to be added too.
Brand new ones a scarce and cost anywhere between R450-00 and R700-00 depending on size.

Then all af a sudden as I was doing some window shopping I saw this tog bag and a little light bulb came on.
I only made 2 mesh sides to see what it would be like, can always add more later.

Thanx Craig and Sandra for the compliments. Im not really that good at making things, but I know how to hide the inperfections LOL

Ooooh I think Hot pink would look GR8 Lisa,

So I tested it this morning. It works great. She went to drop off the kids at school with me, then we went to show her to one of my friends at the office. Mathilda (My friend) went all goo goo and ga ga over her. The one lady locked herself in her office (LMAO) and the others found her way cool as well.

Then we went to have coffee and sat outside on the cofee shop porch with her sunbathing through the netting for about 45 minutes.

By this time her beanie bag and RICE SOCK (Thanx Janie it works GR8) were cooling down so we came home and beleive it or not . . . SHE HAS BEEN BASKING ever since.

Here is a pic of her in her new carrier.
