I read somewhere that bearded dragons like to swim. I had mine swimming today but realized I had a question. What happens if they get water in their ears while in the tub?

Dont make the water that deep -- and I am not sure about the water in the ears -- but I can ask

It’s uncomfortable for them to get water in their ears. You might notice them shaking their head or scratching it if it happens. Don’t make the water so deep that they can’t stand, swimming should be an option not a necessity.

Are there any long term effects I should watch out for?

here is a answer I got about the water in the ears

They're usually fine, the membrane keeps water out to a degree. Some dragons can get an inner ear infection that can make them wobbly but it's not common and not clear as to if the water is what causes it.
