I use a kitchen scale too. Easier that weighing the box and subtracting the amount, it took me a minute to figure this out too, put the box on, weigh it and then press the "on/TARE" button, it cancels out the weight of the box and then you can put your beardie in without every removing the box :)

I should be too embarrassed to admit this but...I thought tare meant on or off in another language lol. Thank you for the enlightening, that makes things much easier!

It took me awhile to figure that out too. I think I was watching The Biggest Loser or something and they explained it.
