bearded dragon not growing

so my two year old bearded dragon is only 18 inches is that normal i heard when they are full grown they can be up to 24 inches and bigger if they are a german giant

Very normal size. It's unrealistic to expect your dragon to hit the maximum size for the species just like you can't expect a kid to grow to 7 feet tall just because there are people who are that tall. 24 inches is a monster of a dragon even for a German Giant; I've surely never seen one that size.

oh i thought i was because he has stunted growth because he's in a 40 gallon i know not the ideal cage size but its all i have until i get a job

Your dragon can grow up until he's 2 years old - diet and genetics are factors in their size

how many should i feed him then?
As much as he'll eat in 10 minutes when he's growing. But we're over that point now. Although I've heard anecdotal evidence of stunted dragons achieving a growth spurt in adulthood when suddenly given the proper nutrition, yours is not stunted and unlikely to grow anymore.

okay thanks also do you know if my bearded dragon is a hypo he has blue bars on his back and also has an orange beard and parts of his tail are orange when he's not under his lamp
