Bearded Dragon Mites Problem

Hello! I've had a bearded dragon for almost 4 years now and have never had a problem with mites. I have noticed little bugs on her rocks and on the tile floor. I might see one every 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. I've dealt with tail rot ans stuff like that but I have never dealt with mites before so this is new to me. I have checked under her arms and all the places I've heard of them being, but can't find any on her, just on the items inside the cage. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello, I've dealt with two different types of mites on my bearded dragons, red mites and these black mites I can't remember the name of. Normally they're pretty easy to spot so there's a chance your bearded dragon doesn't have mites but I'm not an expert with all types of mites. Now if you find out your bearded dragon does have mites, I would suggest giving baths everyday and also spray mite spray. You can find reptile mite spray at most pet stores or online.

Thanks! I usually try to help out most people, but this I had no idea about. I haven't found any mites on her so I think she's fine. The main thing was I saw them every once in a while on rocks and other terrarium decor but now I haven't seen them for a few weeks.

Good to know. I've never had other reptiles like snakes or frogs and such. I don't mind them and think frogs are adorable, but have never had them as pets. :) I'll keep watch for mites now, though.

Yeah, frogs are pretty cool. I'm trying to get a deal right now on a Western Hognose snake, can't find a great deal on them so far though.

Awesome! I'll have to google to see what they look like. They had tree frogs at the pet store last time I went to get bugs. Sooo cute. I want one. lol I have a friend who just got a Baby Ball Python. She said she's really sweet. Told her I wanted to hold her next time I was over. :)

My father had a Ball Python once, sadly, he had to get rid of it eventually. :( Ball Pythons normally are really docile. I've heard tree frogs make great pets, so I think it'd be worth a shot.

Awww sorry to hear about your Dad's python. :( I can't wait to see hers. Hmmm I'm thinking at the moment Dex is taking up all my time. I'm one of those fretting mamas. Check on him constantly. lol Maybe when he's a bit older and slows down some I'll consider getting one. They are cute. lol
