From what I understand its not unusual for them to eat shed skin, but it may be because hes not getting enough calcium ,so eating the shed to reclaim it. Make sure food gets a good dusting of calcium plus d3.
Yeah, it's not common but they have done it. Either they are lacking something in their diet or its a survival technique to hide from predators. If they eat their skin, nobody will see that they were ever there.
