Bearded dragon gagging while eating?

Hey all. Recently I’ve noticed my little man gagging during eating. He’ll eat a few crickets then gag and I’ll see them come up into his mouth. He’ll eat them again (he isn’t throwing up) so I’m not as concerned as I would be if he was throwing up. Still though, I don’t like it. He eats large crickets (around as big as the space between his eyes) and has been pooping pretty regularly. Tank stays around 110 on the hot side, 80 on the cool but my humidity is a bit high (I’m trying to lower it). Could it be a respiratory issue? Or just him eating too fast?

They’re too big i think, they kick on the way down, and have spines on their legs…… only reason for him gagging during eating…

He should be able to eat 3 in one gulp, if hes chewing just the one for more than a second, too big…

Whats ur humidity? As long as it isnt above 60 its okay, him being under the heat lamp every day dries them out fine

Please try smaller size crickets please see if that doesnt help --- optimal humidity is 30-50% -- please get a digital probe hygrometer and place on the back center wall it will read the whole tank -- Exo Terra sells them --
