I am spending about $35 a month on food for my beardie and I’m going broke (not joking). Is that a normal amount? Any tips on how to save money? Even if it is just saving a few dollars. Any cheap(er) online insect shops you would recommend? I have been using Flukers. Thanks in advance.

Salad material cost me about $5/ every 2 weeks- I buy collards turnip greens squash usually either yellow or zucchini and a sweet potato then I add a occasional fruit - I havent bought dubias for a long time - they are breeding in my tank and I have a good stock on them -- they are / were purchased thru www.dubiaroaches.com - I buy super worms 100 at a time from here https://flukerfarms.com/crickets-live-feeder-insects/ they are cheap and last a long time as they are not fed every day - 2-3 times per week around 3 of them - horn worms are also purchased but I go weeks in between ------------- dubiaroaches.com is cheaper than anyone else I have found --- hornworms especially and I believe roaches as well

Where do you live?
I started a herb garden in my window, i got some good pots and the cheap domes from $store and i managed to grow some kale and, dug up dandelions that keep producing!!
In a pinch i buy the small bags of mixed veggies you can get in the produce section,
Kale slaw, or the frozen blueberries last awhile in freezer, just be sure you defrost well and the juice makes nice dressing for greens, maybe check with a local restaurant, some of thier produce scraps for your gut loaded bugs. Good luck,
